Roanoke College

Lettered in football for four seasons and was a varsity swimmer and winner of the intramural meet for two years in addition to being a member of the boxing team.  Also played varsity baseball for three years. 

In addition to setting a standard of athletic accomplishment far above his classmates, West was elected Vice President of his junior class and served as President and Vice President of the German Club for three years.  Member of the Dramatics Club, the Chemistry Society and the Honor Council in his junior year.
