Roanoke College Sports Medicine
Welcome to Roanoke College Sports Medicine! We are under the guidance and supervision of our campus Health and Counseling Center, directed by Sandra McGhee. Below, you will find information about the services we provide for our student athletes, athletic training handbook and clinic rules, and instructions/forms to complete. Please feel free to reach out to your team's certified athletic trainer with any questions or concerns and we will be happy to help.
The Jim Buriak Athletic Training Clinic is located on the first floor of the Cregger Center. While school is in session, the clinic is available for open treatment hours Monday to Friday, between 12 pm - 3 pm and weekends by appointment only. Summer and campus breaks are also by appointment only. If you are unable to make these hours, please contact your ATC directly. Your ATC will also be available at least 1 hour before practice and 2 hours prior to a game.

Mission Statement
The Roanoke College Sports Medicine Department will strive to provide the most efficient and effective interdisciplinary care available to help prevent and manage athletic related injuries or illnesses. Treatment of these conditions will be based on an athlete-centered approach to healthcare, utilizing current evidence-based research to drive prevention, evaluation, treatment, and return to play for all of our athletes.
Philosophy
The Roanoke College Sports Medicine Department is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and athlete-centered care for all 23 varsity teams. Guided by Student Wellness Services and our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Delmas Bolin, our certified athletic trainers collaborate with a wide network of medical and wellness professionals to ensure the highest quality of care. We emphasize injury prevention, functional rehabilitation, and continuous professional development, while also offering educational opportunities for students and fellows in sports medicine. Our top priority is the health, safety, and well-being of every Roanoke College athlete.
