Roanoke College

Lettered in basketball, baseball, and football while at Roanoke.  Was considered the most outstanding pitcher Roanoke College ever had.

Nicknamed "The Turk," Hale led RC off the field as well as on, serving as student body president his senior year.

After college, he went back to high school as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal at William Byrd for 19 years.  He had two district champion football teams at Byrd and one state quarter finalist.  Also coached basketball, baseball, track, and golf.
