One of Roanoke’s top swimmers from 1966-70, Duffin was named Amateur Athlete of the Year in Virginia during her scholastic career.

A three-time "high scorer" in 1966-67, Duffin set the freestyle record in relay against William & Mary in 1968.  In 1969, Duffin set the record in 200-yard freestyle against Lynchburg.  In 1970, she was elected co-captain of the varsity swim team.

Provided leadership through her involvement in the Women’s Athletic Association.
