Roanoke College

An outstanding part of what could be termed the "glory years" of Roanoke College track, Johnston ran indoor and outdoor track and was named team co-captain in 1958. 

The reason for the unmatchable string of track honors four consecutive Little Eight Championships, and six straight Mason Dixon titles in indoor competition.  A part of the phenomenal five-year string of 38 dual meet victories without a loss.

Tied the school 100 yard dash record, put a new time in Mason Dixon records book for low hurdles indoors and outdoors.
