Wagner finished her Roanoke College women's lacrosse playing career in 1996, that season earning First Team All-American honors despite being limited to just seven games (of a possible 15). She completed the year ranked fourth on the team in scoring and during that season set NCAA Division III single-game records for points (14) and assists (10).
That season, she recorded 43 points, averaging 6.14 points a game. She earned Co-Female Athlete of the Year honors as a senior. One year earlier, she was First Team All-ODAC pick, a First Team All-Region pick, and an Honorable Mention All-American selection. She rates 11th on Roanoke's all-time scoring list with 155 points and fourth in assists with 71.
