Roanoke College

One of Roanoke College’s most distinguished athletes, Emberger was a member of the cross country team, swimming team, and the track and field squad all four years for the Maroons.  He was a proven leader, as he was named co-captain in each sport and received 11 varsity letters.

In track & field, Emberger set Virginia State records in the high jump, high hurdles, both indoor and outdoor.

A member of the San Diego Track Club, he was a member of the 1963 U.S. Track Team and the following year represented the U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics.  He participated in the Decathlon, placing 10th among all participants.
