One of the college’s most versatile athletes, Watters competed in intramurals as well as intercollegiate sports.
She was also Sports Editor of the Brackety-Ack and President of the Women’s Athletic Association.
Watters split her spring sports participation between tennis and lacrosse in addition to field hockey in the fall.
Selected to the Virginia State Division II lacrosse team; earned All-Star selection on the Blue Ridge I Regional field hockey team.
Selected the College’s Most Valuable Player and one of America’s Outstanding Athletes
In 1971, Watters was voted Roanoke’s Outstanding Woman Athlete of the Year.
