Pennix finished his career with 1,282 points, which ranked in the top 20 all-time for many years. He is one of two Maroons to ever post 1,000 points, and be ranked in the top-10 in career rebounds (719), steals (171) and assists (254).
Pennix was a first-team All-ODAC selection as a sophomore (1986) and second-team as a senior (1988). He led the Maroons to a four-year record of 72-43; 33-23 in the ODAC, with three ODAC Tournament Championships and three NCAA Appearances.
After graduation, Pennix served in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1993, earning the National Defense Service Medal in support of Operation Desert Storm. He came back to his alma mater to become an assistant on Page Moir’s staff for three years, helping the Maroons to a 58-25 record, back-to-back 20-win seasons, the 2000 ODAC Title, and two NCAA Tournament second-round appearances. Pennix currently serves as Roanoke’s Vice President for Enrollment Management.
