FOREST, Va. – The Roanoke College softball team opens the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament Friday against the University of Lynchburg at 7:30 p.m. at the Moyer Complex. The Maroons rank second in conference history with eight ODAC team titles and advanced to the finals in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The eight-team double elimination tournament kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. with two separate pods of four teams each. No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University, unbeaten this season at 40-0, is in No. 5's Roanoke's pod, along with No. 4 Lynchburg and No. 8 Guilford College. Va. Wesleyan and Guilford open pod play Friday, followed by the Maroons and Hornets.

The Maroons have been playing well as of late, winning 10 of their last 15 games. Junior outfielder
Carsyn Michaels is among several RC players with impressive numbers heading into the tournament with a .430 batting average, .479 on base percentage with a .558 slugging mark.
Charlotte Gale has enjoyed her first season in Salem with a .404 batting average, a .509 on base percentage and a .551 slugging percentage. Junior
Heather McQueeney is hitting .387 with a team-high 31 runs and 32 stolen bases.
Riley Shupe isn't far behind with 29 runs scored and also has a .336 batting average and 16 stolen bases.
Haleigh Vaughan has a .316 batting average while
Kiran Kapur leads the conference
with seven triples and boasts a 1.004 OPS.
Baylee Compton paces RC's pitching staff with a 2.02 ERA, an 8-6 record and 79 strikeouts.
The winners of the Va. Wesleyan/Guilford and RC/Lynchburg games face off Saturday at 11 a.m. with the two losers playing an elimination game at 2 p.m.
