The Short story: The contest was tied for four innings Sunday, but the Roanoke College softball team fell 4-0 to No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament.
The game was scoreless through four innings but the undefeated Marlins (43-0) broke though for three in the fifth and added one in the sixth to end the Maroons season.
Roanoke finishes the year 22-20 and won 12 of its last 19 games. The Maroons knocked both Guilford College and the University of Lynchburg out of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday.
