The Basics
Event: Joe LaRocco Invitational
Location: Salem, Va. | Cregger Field House
The Lead: The Maroons took first in the 800m and 4x400 relay and recorded a total of seven top-five placements at the Joe LaRocco Invitational.
 
Highlights:

• Elias Ammon won the 800m with a time of 1:57.40, which ranks fourth in Roanoke history and third in the ODAC this season. Adrian Shiguango-Holtz (2:02.36) placed seventh, and Jackson Coombes (2:04.37) landed in 12th.
• The quartet of Ammon, Lorenzo Camobreco, Brandon Heffinger and Bryson Hill won the 4x400 relay with a season-best time of 3:26.95, which ranks second in the conference this winter. The Maroons' "B" team of Coombes, Shiguango-Holtz, Andrew Estes and Daniel Graham placed eighth in 3:38.45.
• In the 5,000m, Matt Garis established a new personal record of 15:26.47, placing second in both the event and the school record book. Gabe Ramirez (16:14.44) and Sam Brasler (16:15.54) finished back-to-back in 10th and 11th, with Garrett Weaver (16:48.33) landing in 17th and Levi Counts (16:53.00) coming in 20th.
• Cody Roupe placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.94m.
• In the 60m, Amari Carter came in fourth in 6.95 seconds, and Drew Bitzer's time of 7.04 seconds was good for the sixth spot. Brady Fowler ran a season-best time of 6.91 seconds in the prelims, and that trio now owns the fastest three times in program history.
• Jim Sarsfield placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 16.47m.
• Graham came in fifth in the 60m hurdles, running a time of 9.04 seconds in the finals. He clocked in at 8.95 in the prelims.
• Dominic McCombs recorded a mark of 3.96m to finish sixth in the pole vault.
• In the 3,000m, Ian Fellows came in seventh in 8:58.04, and Seth Perry logged a time of 9:14.46 to land in 17th.
• Bitzer placed 10th in the 200m at 22.97 seconds.
• In the 400m, Hill's time of 52.74 seconds was good for the 11th spot. Heffinger (53.23) finished 15th, and Camobreco (53.56) came in 18th.
• Trey Tomlinson registered a distance of 12.15m to finish 15th in the triple jump.
• Aidan Vigus placed 19th in the shot put at 11.74m.
• Roanoke took time to honor its senior class (pictured above) at the final home event of the regular season.
