SALEM, Va. - Head field hockey coach Briana Banks formally announced the hiring of alumna
Krista DeModna '25 as her assistant coach on Tuesday.

DeModna joins the coaching ranks after completing her four-year playing career at Roanoke. The New York product saw regular action in all four years with the Maroons and took over a starting roll in her junior season. As a midfielder/defender, DeModna played in 58 games and made 43 starts for Roanoke. She tallied five goals and five assists over her career which included a career best four goals and three assists in her senior season. DeModna was also a team captain for RC during her senior year.

DeModna graduated in 2025 from Roanoke with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science.

The field hockey team is set to hit the road for the first time this season this weekend as they travel to Pennsylvania. The Maroons face-off with Allegheny on Saturday (Sep. 6) and Concordia (Wis.) on Sunday (Sep. 7).Â
