FOREST, Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey squad was selected to finish seventh in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) this season as released by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.
The poll is voted on by the head field hockey coaches of all the ODAC schools that sponsor the sport. Head coaches cannot vote for their own programs in the poll.
The Maroons earned 26 points in the poll, putting them 13 points ahead of eighth ranked Sweet Briar and just three points behind sixth ranked Virginia Wesleyan. Lynchburg and Shenandoah top the poll with 60 points each with both schools receiving four first place votes each.
RC gets their season started on Friday (Aug. 29) when they play in their home opener against Mary Washington. First hit is scheduled for 6:00 pm at Kerr Stadium.
