The Lead: Elias Ammon broke the school record in the 1,500m, securing one of 12 total Top 5 performances for the Maroons in Lynchburg.
Meet Highlights:
- Ammon snapped a 10-year-old mark in the 1,500m by more than a full second to win the event. His time of 3:57.26, which eclipsed the program record of 3:58.51 set by Justin Ginnings in 2015, ranks seventh in the ODAC and 11th in the NCAA South Region.
- Three other Maroons finished in the Top 10 in the event. Matt Garis placed third in 4:05.99, followed by Ian Fellows (4:14.15) in sixth place and Seth Perry (4:17.16) in 10th.
- Lorenzo Camobreco was the runner-up in the 400m, clocking in at 49.21 seconds. Brandon Heffinger placed fifth in 51.20.
- Four Roanoke athletes landed in the Top 8 in the 400m hurdles. George Davis led the way in third place with a time of 59.01 seconds, with Dylan Knick (1:00.44) in fourth, Daniel Graham (1:03.35) in fifth and Teague Ward (1:06.97) in eighth.
- In the 110m hurdles, Graham (15.92 seconds) and Davis Neel (16.42) finished back-to-back in fourth and fifth.
- Aidan Vigus' personal-record mark of 37.53m was good for fifth place in the hammer throw.
- Trey Tomlinson came in fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.36m.
- Vigus finished fifth in the shot put at 11.77m, while Evyn Hughes was eighth at 11.28m.
- Graham registered a mark of 3.45m to place sixth in the pole vault.
- In the javelin, Hughes set a personal record of 41.56m to land in eighth position. Vigus came in 10th at 36.89m.
- Tomlinson established a new PR in the long jump, finishing eighth at 5.89m.
- Jackson Coombes placed 10th in the 800m, logging a time of 1:59.53.
