The Lead: The Maroons posted a string of personal-record and season-best performances in a field of athletes from all divisions in Lynchburg.
Meet Highlights:
- In the pole vault, Dominic McCombs tied for 11th place with a mark of 4.10m.
- Two Maroons cracked the program Top 10 list in the 3,000m. Matt Garis logged a time of 8:46.05 to place 15th overall and third in school history, while Jackson Coombes' mark of 9:01.21 was good for 26th at the meet and 10th all-time at Roanoke.
- One week after breaking his own school record in the event, Jim Sarsfield registered a distance of 14.11m in the weight throw to finish 18th overall.
- In the mile run, Seth Perry placed 19th in 4:23.68, and Elias Ammon finished 23rd at 4:25.44. Those times rank fifth and sixth in Roanoke annals.
- Ammon helmed some impressive times in the 800m, clocking in at 1:58.42 to finish in 30th place. Perry (2:00.33) and Ian Fellows (2:01.52) set personal records to land in 44th and 52nd, respectively.
- Three Maroons logged season-best marks in the 400m: Bryson Hill (52.19 seconds) placed 37th, followed by Lorenzo Camobreco (52.37) in 40th and Brandon Heffinger (52.49) in 42nd.
- Sarsfield also placed 38th in the shot put with a throw of 11.76m. Aidan Vigus finished 42nd at 11.53m.
- Drew Bitzer ran a personal-record time in the 200m, coming in at 22.66 seconds to land in a tie for sixth place all-time. He finished 42nd overall and sixth among Division III competitors.
