Score: Roanoke 9 | Randolph 1
Records: Maroons 16-7 / 9-4 ODAC | WildCats 5-10 / 0-3 ODAC
Location: Salem, Va.

The Lead: Roanoke looked to keep their current two game win streak alive when they hosted Randolph College for a double header on Thursday night. After falling behind 1-0, the Maroons scored nine unanswered runs to take the opener in six innings, 9-1. In the nightcap, Roanoke found themselves down 6-1 before a comeback would see Roanoke earn a 9-8 win, running their current streak to four straight wins.

How it Happened:

  • Randolph got one run in the top of the second aided by two Roanoke miscues.
  • The Wildcats would hold the lead until a six-run outburst in the bottom of the fourth would give Roanoke the lead for good.

Rebecca Hensley singled and Brooke Trapuzzano walked to load the bases. Shanan Hester hit a 3-RBI double and then scored on a Randolph error to put the Maroons in firm control.
  • Jada Karnes earned her 11th win of the season with a six inning, four hit, seven strikeout performance.
  • DiFava was 2-3 with a run scored with Hester scoring one run and driving in three.
