The Basics - Game One (seven innings) Score: Roanoke 4, North Carolina Wesleyan 1

The Lead: The Maroons handed North Carolina Wesleyan its first loss of the season after winning the first game of a two-game series played on Sunday.
How it Happened:- N.C. Wesleyan was first to jump on the board after a Kaelan Jacobs double drove across the only run that the Battling Bishops would score in the first game.
- Roanoke had a big fourth inning that would feature three runs. Craig Kiley started off the inning with a base hit to right field that was followed by a Will Decker double and Clark Crutchfield was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
- Scott Ellis would score Kiley after a single up the middle, which would still leave the bases loaded for the Maroons with no outs.
- After a Collier Donald ground ball to third, Decker would be thrown out at home. On the next at bat, Dean Hermanson would reach on a fielder's choice by hitting a ground ball up the middle to score Crutchfield, but Donald would be forced out at second base.
- With runners on first and third, Lucas Nowlin would single to left field to drive in Scott Ellis to push across the third run of the inning.
- In the top of the sixth Roanoke would score an insurance run to make the score 4-1 after Ellis crossed home on wild pitch.
- RC received a strong pitching performance from Rawlings Cumbea who would pick up his first win of the season. Cumbea went four innings and only gave up one run off of four hits.
- Nick Raulin would bridge the gap after throwing scoreless fifth and sixth inning frames, and Ethan Delahunty would pick up his second save of the year after striking out two in a scoreless seventh inning.
- Offensively, Ellis would lead the Maroons at the plate with two hits and one RBI while scoring two runs. Nowlin would also have one RBI and was 1-for-2 at the plate with a walk.

The Lead: RC capped off its weekend series in North Carolina by falling to North Carolina Wesleyan 3-7 in a back-and-forth game.
How it Happened: - The Battling Bishops would get on the board early in the first inning after a wild pitch would score Ciro Norzagaray from third base.
- Roanoke would respond in the in the fourth inning after a Dean Hermanson three-run home run would give the Maroons a 3-1 edge.
- After two home runs of its own in the bottom of the fourth inning, N.C. Wesleyan would take a 4-3 advantage and then add three more runs in the fifth inning to make the score 7-3 finishing out the scoring for both teams on the day.
- For the Maroons, Crutchfield and Ross Strickland each had two hits and Dean Hermanson was 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run that accounted for three RBI.
- Michael Mares was saddled with the loss for Roanoke after giving up three earned runs and striking out two.
