Notes and Notables
- DeShawn Austin snapped the Roanoke record in the long jump. His winning mark of 7.02m is currently good for third place in the ODAC and fourth in the NCAA South Region. Amir Spencer placed fifth overall at 6.50m.
- Dominic McCombs also broke the program record in the pole vault, finishing second in the event at 4.37m. That height ranks fifth in the conference and ninth and the region. Daniel Graham landed in seventh place at 3.62m.
- Elias Ammon won the 800m in 1:55.92, securing the second-fastest time in Roanoke annals. He currently ranks second in the conference and sixth regionally. Shane Stevens placed fifth with a mark of 2:02.26.
- Amari Carter ran a season-best time of 6.89 seconds to take first in the 60m, moving up to second in the ODAC and a tie for fifth in the South Region. Sam Linebaugh set a personal record with a time of 7.14 in the prelims.
- Roanoke also won the 4x400 relay, with Ammon, Max Cardwell, Mitchell Taylor and Lorenzo Camobreco crossing the tape in 3:23.66. The quartet of Linebaugh, Brandon Heffinger, Jonah Hamman and Colby Thompson placed fourth in 3:31.78.
- In the 800m, Nathaniel Orban's runner-up time of 8:36.72 landed him in third place in the school record book; it also ranks fourth in the ODAC and fifth in the region. Gabe Ramirez logged a personal-best mark of 9:06.18 to place sixth.
- Sam Brasler (16:03.24) and Parker Blosser (16:06.82) finished fifth and sixth in the 5,000m.
- Kyle Stephens took the fifth spot in the shot put with a toss of 13.57m, while Aidan Vigus registered a PR distance of 13.10m to place eighth overall.
- David Gipson came in fifth in the triple jump at 12.81m, followed by Thompson in 10th place at 11.88m.
- In the mile run, Seth Perry's season-best time of 4:31.26 was good for sixth place. Jackson Coombes set a PR at 4:32.08 to nab eighth, and Aaron Massey placed ninth in 4:32.67.
- Linebaugh logged a time of 23.29 seconds to finish ninth in the 200m.
- In the 400m, Hamman placed 10th in 53.51 seconds, and Dylan Knick came in 11th with a personal-best mark of 53.68.
- Vigus also set a PR in the weight throw, placing 12th overall at 12.87m.
Up Next: Roanoke will take part in two events next weekend, with the Rockingham Collegiate Classic set for Friday and the Wittenberg Invite slated for Saturday.
