FOREST, Va. - Senior Ryan Pidgeon of the Roanoke College men's soccer team was selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday evening.
Pidgeon takes home the honor after two standout performances last week to help the Maroons go 2-0. The midfielder scored the game winner against William Peace in the final minute of RC's midweek contest and then tallied two goals, including the game-winner, against Penn State Abington over the weekend. Pidgeon also recorded his first career multi-goal game in the win over Penn State Abington.
This is the first time in his career that Pidgeon has won a weekly accolade. It is also the first time this season that Roanoke has picked up a weekly award.
Pidgeon and the #23 Maroons return to the pitch on Wednesday (Sep. 24) as they make the trip to Lexington to take on Washington & Lee in a 7:00 pm non-conference game.
