FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Roanoke College men's soccer team were taken down by Mary Washington in their final non-conference game of the regular season.

How It Happened 

• Mary Washington scored first early in the first half. 

• The Maroons came out strong after the half. Grey Morris completed a 1-2 pass in the midfield with Harrison Kraus. Then Morris found Slate Danforth on the wing who dribbled forward and buried it into the bottom corner of the far post to level it. 

• The Eagles, however, regained the lead again just a minute later. 

Notes and Notables 

• Danforth's goal was his first of the season and the fifth of his career. 

• Kraus led in shots with four while Carlos Lomena was right behind with three. 

• Danforth and Morris were the only other Maroons to register multiple shots while Will Fatzinger and Austin Briggs accounted for the squad's other two shots. 

• Denzel Marufu and Aidan McHugh split time in goal. Marufu got the start and didn't register a save while McHugh took over in the second half and made five saves. 

• While RC got outshot, 20-13, the shots on goal were even with seven a piece.
