CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Roanoke College women's cross-country team competed at the Queen City Invite on Friday evening.

Notes and Notables 

• The Maroons faced off with a field of mostly DI and DII competition. 

• Maya Herndon led the pack with her time of 19:30.89 to finish within the top 100 of the 228-person field. It was the first time that Herndon had ever recorded a sub-20-minute time. 

• Evelyn Magee (20:56.4), Allie Gallaher (21:09.4), Lauren Murray (21:12.9), and Alaina DeFelice (21:21.3) rounded out Roanoke's top five on the 5k course. 

• Magee's time tied her track personal record. 

• Sarah Kochanski and Nadira Cantey completed the scoring seven with marks of 22:20.1 and 22:22.9. 

• Every Maroon set a personal record on the day. 

• Angelina Perez of Wake Forest took the overall title with her time of 16:19.67.

"The women had a 20:50 average for the 5k! Great start for our women and much improved from last year. Every single one of our women ran set a collegiate PR with some freshmen running lifetime bests. It was a really strong field with only one other DIII team and a ton of DI, DII, and NAIA teams. I'm really proud of our women and their efforts today!"
