BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Freshman Maya Herndon garnered All-ODAC laurels as the Roanoke College women's cross country team placed fifth at the ODAC Championships.

Notes and Notables 

• RC finished the day with 113 team points, which was just 13 behind fourth place Bridgewater. It was the team's best point total since 2016 when they placed 2nd overall with 67 points. 

• With the addition of the Third Team All-ODAC this season, Maya Herndon qualified for the team with her 17th place finish and a time of 23:50.4. 

• Herndon is the first All-ODAC honoree for RC since Kerri Dalton in 2016. She is also the highest finisher for the Maroons since 2017. 

• Allie Gallaher also finished in the top 30 with her time of 24:29.4 to put her at 28th. Gallaher's finish is tied for the second highest individual finish at this meet since 2018. 

• Evelyn Magee took 36th with her personal best time of 25:01.4. 

• Sarah Kochanski and Lauren Murray rounded out the scoring five at 49th and 57th place with personal record times of 25:43.6 and 26:12.8 respectively. 

• Sadie Teer and Brooke Eichelberger topped off Roanoke's seven with personal best finishes at 63rd (26:26.8) and 66th (26:36.1).  

Coach Derek Workman's thoughts on the race... 

"Our women had a heck of a day! They executed the race plan and mixed it up with some of the better teams in the conference. Huge step in the right direction for us. I'm really proud of these women for their efforts today."
