SALEM, Va. - Roanoke College's Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Derek Workman, announced the addition of Aurielle Brunner to the track & field staff as the Assistant Coach – Jumps.
"We are very excited to have Aurielle on staff," said Coach Workman. "She was an extremely accomplished athlete throughout her career, and we look forward to her bringing that expertise and experience as she begins her coaching journey. She is going to be a huge addition for the program!"
Brunner joins the staff after an illustrious track & field career at Chatham University. Brunner was a 10 time All-American, the first in Chatham history, taking the accolades in long jump, triple jump, heptathlon, and pentathlon events. Additionally, she is a 22-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree, a four-time PAC Overall MVP, a five-time PAC Field MVP, a two-time PAC Newcomer of the Year, and a PAC Track MVP. Brunner also holds 10 individual and three relay records at Chatham as well as five PAC records, and two stadium/facility records.
She was also a standout on the hardwood for Chatham. Brunner helped the Cougars' women's basketball program to their first ever PAC championship in 2024 and was named the program's first ever Defensive Player of the Year after leading the conference and being ranked top 5 in the country in steals during the 2023-24 season. Brunner also holds the single season record in steals and assists as well as the all-time steals record at Chatham. Additionally, Brunner was a member of Chatham's soccer team during the 2024 season in which she was named Most Improved Player by her coaches and teammates.
Brunner graduated from Chatham in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology.
