The Basics
Event: Hill City Twilight
Location: Lynchburg, Va. | Shellenberger Field
The Lead: Elias Ammon narrowly missed the school record in the 800m, while
Ian Fellows ran a personal-best time in the 1,500m in a qualifier at the University of Lynchburg.
Highlights:
- Ammon's time of 1:51.93 landed him in 12th place in the top flight of the 800m. He came within one-tenth of a second of Dana Mueller's outdoor program record time of 1:51.85, which was set back in 2005. Ammon was the top Division III finisher in the race, and his time – the second-fastest in Roanoke annals – ranks just outside the Top 30 nationally and is fourth among freshmen.
- Fellows crushed his previous personal record with a mark of 3:58.75 in the 1,500m. He placed seventh overall, and his time ranks third in program history.
Up Next: The Maroons will take part in Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Twilight in Berea, Ohio next Thursday and Friday.
