The Lead: Jim Sarsfield set a new Roanoke standard in the weight throw as the men's track & field team launched its indoor campaign at the Liberty Kickoff.
Meet Highlights:
- Sarsfield's distance of 15.95m in the weight throw eclipsed the previous school record of 15.44m, set by Jonathan Taylor in 2011. He placed eighth overall and was the top Division III finisher.
- Gabe Ramirez and Sam Brasler finished eighth and ninth in the 5,000m, clocking in at 16:36.47 and 16:36.72.
- Elias Ammon recorded a time of 2:00.81 to place ninth in the 800m. Adrian Shiguango-Holtz came in 12th in 2:02.39.
- In the 3,000m, Ian Fellows landed in 14th place with a personal-record time of 8:51.54, which ranks third in program annals. Seth Perry placed 17th in the event in 8:58.71, producing the sixth-fastest time in Roanoke history.
