The Polar Bears got on the board with a goal at 2:06, but two goals in nine seconds (1:17 and 1:08) by Whitlow and Jay Frye put the Maroons ahead 5-1 after the first 15 minutes.
  • Clayton Bewick started off the scoring in the second period off an assist from Luca Docking but was answered by ONU less than two minutes later to keep the Maroons lead at four with 9:16 left in the first half.
