RC Men’s Lacrosse picks up big late season win against Bridgewater

The Short Story:
The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team defended its home turf in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup Wednesday against visiting Bridgewater College, winning 12-5. The Maroon defense held the Eagles to just two goals in the first three periods.
 
How It Happened:
After a tightly contested first quarter, the Maroons blew the game open with an 8-0 scoring run that lasted through the beginning of the third quarter. Three different Maroons scored three or more goals to help secure the victory.
 
Inside The Numbers:
*Julian Kammerman netted four goals on the day and added an assist.
*Noah Bell and Jack Savoie each put up three-goal performances, and Bell also had a helper.
*Dell Vidunas and Blake Rieger each chipped in a goal.
*Eight different Maroons recorded an assist in the game.
*Ike Dutton forced two turnovers on the night and had three groundballs. Tyler Schmelzer was credited with five groundballs and Noah Elazar had four.
*Alex Feuer earned the win between the pipes, making seven saves in 45 minutes and just allowing two goals.
Ian Cook made 19 saves for the Eagles (9-6, 3-5).
 
Up Next:
For the last time in the regular season, the Maroons (10-4, 6-2) will hit the road and take on Randolph-Macon College in Ashland VA, this Saturday at 1 p.m. in another ODAC matchup.
