The Lead: The Maroons fell by a score of 8-1 in the first game of a doubleheader despite a strong pitching performance from
John Ruhlman.
How it Happened:- RC was first to strike in the first inning after Craig Kiley hit into a fielder's choice, but was able to drive in Will Black.
- Greensboro was able to score one run in both the fifth and sixth innings, giving them a 2-1 lead heading into the seventh.
- In the seventh, the Pride capitalized on errors made by the Maroons and were able to put across six runs giving them the 8-1 lead.
- Ruhlman was saddled with the loss for Roanoke despite only giving up one earned run during his six innings of work.
- For Greensboro, Adam Murray picked up the win after throwing a complete game giving up one unearned run off of five hits.
- Offensively, Clark Crutchfield led Roanoke by collecting two hits on the day.

The Lead: Roanoke bounced back in game two thanks to 15 runs off of 17 hits and a strong pitching performance from
Rawlings Cumbea to take the weekend series over the Pride.
How it Happened:- Roanoke started its scoring outburst in the first inning by stringing together five consecutive hits to start the contest which would lead to five runs in the opening frame.
- Sean Guida was able to get things going with a single. In the next at bat, Dan Brodeur homered to make it 2-0.
- Will Decker then doubled and Kiley doubled directly after him to score another run. Drew Mikula would drive in Kiley with a single after a wild pitch advanced him to third.
- Mikula stole second and Dan Irwin singled to score him to give the Maroons the 5-0 advantage to start the game.
- The Maroons had another huge inning in the fourth after a Decker single would drive in Sean Guida and Josh Howard to make the score 7-0.
- In the next at bat, Kiley hit a three-run home run driving in Brodeur and Decker to make it 10-0 capping off the fourth inning.
- RC would add one more run in the seventh after a single by Howard would drive in Dean Hermanson.
- Roanoke would have another big inning in the eighth after a Danny Pugh single was able to start another rally. Mikula was able knock him in after placing a double in the gap to give RC the 12-2 lead, and the Maroons were able to add three more runs that inning giving them the 15-2 edge.
- Cumbea picked up the win on the mound after throwing five shutout innings without allowing a hit, while striking out one.
