GREENSBORO, NC - The Roanoke College baseball team picked up its first win of the season on Thursday, defeating the University of Maine at Presque Isle 11-6 in the neutral location game. The Maroons now have a record of 1-2, while the Owls now have a record of 0-5.
The Maroons met up with the Owls at Guilford College, where UMPI had been facing off against Guilford over the past two days.
Jacob Clifton had a big hitting day as he went 2-4, hitting two home runs and racked up four RBIs in the effort.
Collier Donald went 3-5 on the afternoon, crossing the plate once. He also finished with three RBIs and three stolen bases.
Craig Kiley picked up two doubles to go along with his three RBIs.
Devin Cassity reached base four times including taking two walks and a double. Cassity turned those opportunities into two runs scored, aided by stealing three bases on the day. Haydon Lee was just a home run from hitting for the cycle on the afternoon, scoring two runs in the process.
Will Decker hit a double in the contest and also reached base three times via walks. He scored two runs and doled out an RBI of his own.

Roanoke returns to action on Tuesday, February 25
th as they take on Averett University on the road. That contest is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start. The Maroons open up ODAC play on March 1
st when they travel to face Shenandoah in double-header action. Roanoke's long awaited home opener will take place on March 3
rd, hosting Emory & Henry for a single conference matchup at 2:00 PM.
