SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College baseball team were efficient on the mound and got it done offensively in the middle innings to take a 13-2 win over Southern Virginia.

How It Happened 

• The Maroons struck first in the bottom of the second, tallying a pair of runs on a Jack Fehlner single. 

• Roanoke then put up 11 runs over the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to put themselves firmly in control. 

• While SVU attempted to close the gap in the top of the seventh, it wasn't enough to prolong the game, giving RC the victory. 

Notes and Notables 

• Hayden Giordano earned his first win on the mound this season after going four innings. He struck out six, a career high, and allowed just one base runner in his start. 

• Danny Ferguson led the squad in RBIs with four on a triple and a sacrifice fly. The mark is a new career high for the sophomore. 

• Jack Fehlner, Dylan Bonzon, and Liam Murphy tallied a pair of RBIs each while Noah Donaho and Michael Hetzel recorded RC's other two. 

• Bonzon and Murphy led in hits with two a piece. 

• Donaho and Jorden Olivera both had two stolen bases in the game.
