FOREST, Va. - For the second time in three weeks, senior Ophelia Ladner was selected as the ODAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Ladner staked a spot on the NCAA leaderboard in three different events after wrapping up competition at the VertKlasse Meeting. Her time of 1:02.00 in the top flight of the 400m hurdles landed her in third place at the meet – where she was the only non-Division I competitor – and it currently leads the ODAC and NCAA South Region while ranking sixth in the country. Ladner's time in the 400m hurdles was just shy of the ODAC record of 1:01.87. Her PR time of 14.87 seconds in the 100m hurdles put her in 15th place in the event, and she's now slotted second in the ODAC and 36th in the NCAA. Additionally, Ladner was a part of the 4x100m relay team that ran a time of 47.24 seconds, which was good for eighth in the event and currently ranks 11th in Division III.
Ladner and the track & field squad get ready to head Lynchburg this weekend (Apr. 10-11) for the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic.
