FOREST, Va. - Senior Ophelia Ladner of the Roanoke College women's track & field team earned ODAC Track Athlete of the Week honors as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Ladner takes home the accolade after competing in both the 400-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. She ran a 1:02.66 in the 400 hurdles to take second overall and first amongst DIII competitors. Ladner's time places her first in the ODAC and the South region as well as second in the country in the event. The Maine native also posted a 21st place performance, third among DIII athletes, in the 100 hurdles with a personal best time of 15.68 seconds.
Ladner and the Maroons are set to compete again this upcoming weekend (Mar. 26-28) as the squad splits between the Raleigh Relays and the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invite.
