Maroons take down multiple program records at Finn Pincus Invite

SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College men's track & field squad took down multiple school records as they competed in the Finn Pincus Invitational.

Notes and Notables 

  • The DMR team of Ian Fellows, Brandon Heffinger, Elias Ammon, and Nathaniel Orban leads the country in the event after posting a program record time of 10:26.83. They won the event by just over 25 seconds.
  • RC took the first five spots in the mile. They finished as follows: Orban (4:28.24), Beau Brebner (4:30.87), Fellows (4:31. 70), Aaron Massey (4:32.26), and Samuel Brasler (4:34.92). Massey and Brasler both set personal bests in the event. 
  • Lorenzo Camobreco won the 400m with a time of 49.08. His program record breaking performance puts him ninth in the country and first in the conference. 

  •  Jonah Hamman also finished in the top 10 of the 400m with a time of 54.24 for ninth place. 

  • Ammon won the 800m race with a time of 1:57.09. He now leads the ODAC in the event. 

  • The Roanoke 4x400m squad of Max Cardwell, Heffinger, Ammon, and Camobreco won the event. Their time of 3:21.32 set a new program record while placing them atop the conference and fifth in the nation. 

  • Amari Carter placed second but was the top DIII finisher in the 60m dash with his time of 6.99. He qualified for the finals with a time of 6.91 which puts him 23rd in the country for the event and at the top of the ODAC. 

  • Bryson Hill and Sam Linebaugh were the top two DIII finishers in the 200m, taking second and fourth. Hill ran a 23.02 while Linebaugh clocked in at 23.19. 

  • Dominic McCombs and Graham took third and fourth in the pole vault. McCombs finished with a heigh of 4.40m while Graham recorded a height of 4.25m. 

  • Amir Spencer placed 10th in the long jump with a personal best distance of 6.44m. 

  • David Gipson set personal bests in both the triple and long jumps. He recorded a distance of 13.07m in the triple and a leap of 5.93m in the long jump. 

  • Kyle Stephens took fourth in the shot put with personal best throw of 13.85m, putting him second in the ODAC. 

  • Jayven Bea and Aidan Vigus finished in the top 10 with their personal bests in the weight throw. Beat took eighth with a throw of 13.85m while Vigus placed 10th at 12.72m.

The Maroons make their way to the Liberty Open next weekend (Jan. 23-24).
