SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College football team will play its first game since the 1942 season this Sunday, as the Maroons host the Hampden-Sydney College junior varsity team at 2 p.m. in Salem Stadium.
The Maroons are competing this year as a club team before achieving full varsity status in 2025 and becoming a full member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
Game captains for this week's tilt are
Charlie Davis,
Khamari Garner,
Connor Pleasants and
Aiden Wolk.
Admission is free to celebrate the team's first season. Here are a few other game day details to know:
Free shuttle vans to and from the stadium will be offered for Roanoke College students, faculty and staff. The pick-up/drop-off sites will be in front of Cregger Center and at the main parking lot of Elizabeth Campus. The shuttles will start at noon and run continuously until one hour after the game. The service is being provided by Ride Source.
Tailgaters are welcome, Salem Stadium's parking lot will be open. Spaces can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Game day parking is free. Our kickoff will coincide with a Salem Red Sox game so drivers are encouraged to be careful and courteous. But, with 4,000 parking lot spaces available, every fan can be confident of getting a spot.
Salem Stadium's clear bag policy will apply to games. More info on that and other game details can be found at: roanoke.edu/football
