The Basics
Event: ODAC Indoor Championship
Location: Salem, Va. | Cregger Field House
The Lead: Haylee Gamble won the 200m and garnered all-conference honors in three total events as the Maroons finished as the runner-up at the conference indoor championship at Cregger Field House.
Day Two Highlights:
- Gamble clocked a time of 25.92 seconds to place first in the 200m. Two other Maroons scored in the race, as Lindsey Hobin finished fifth (26.59 seconds), and Eleanor Hinckley placed sixth (26.79).
- Gamble also finished as the runner-up in the 400m with a time of 1:00.14, securing another all-conference citation. Mikayla Hefferon came in fifth at 1:00.79, and Hobin landed in seventh with a mark of 1:00.93.
- The Maroons' 4x400 relay team of Gamble, Hobin, Ophelia Ladner and Maryrose Molina-Shuman notched a second-place finish in 4:05.03, landing All-ODAC honors.
- Rebecca Carr grabbed an all-conference award with a runner-up showing in the 60m hurdles, producing a time of 9.01 seconds. Three other Roanoke athletes scored in the event: Olivia Viers finished fourth (9.13 seconds), with Cammi Winston in sixth (9.41) and Brooklyn Woolwine in seventh (9.77).
- Grace Fowler rounded out Roanoke's All-ODAC honorees, finishing second in the shot put with a distance of 12.33m.
- Taylor Poole placed sixth in the 60m with a time of 8.10 seconds.
- Tasha Miller came in sixth in the pole vault at 2.73m.
- Winston also scored for the Maroons in the triple jump, finishing eighth at 10.60m.
- Roanoke placed second overall with 95 team points. Lynchburg won the championship with 197 points.
Up Next: Roanoke will compete at the South Region Final Qualifier, hosted by Shenandoah next weekend.
