The Lead: The Roanoke baseball team dropped a heartbreaker to Ferrum as the Panthers walked off with in the bottom of the ninth for a midweek ODAC win, 5-4, over the Maroons.

Highlights:

• The Maroons got on the board first with a leadoff home run by Jacob Bonzon in the first inning. Ferrum responded in the bottom of the frame with four runs including a three-run home run to take a 4-1 lead. 
• Roanoke began to chip away at the Panther lead with runs scored in third, fourth, and fifth innings, tying the game on a sacrifice fly by Jonny Wall that Bonzon scored from third on. 
• The two teams played scoreless innings in the sixth through eighth innings before the Panthers got a walk off home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to win the game 5-4.

Up next: Roanoke is on the road this weekend at Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday, April 23. The doubleheader with the Marlins is scheduled for a 12 p.m. first pitch.
