SALEM, Va. – Head women's volleyball coach Blair Trail-Bennett assumed more duties recently at Roanoke College, adding the Senior Woman Administrator title.
Trail-Bennett, entering her 28
th year as the head volleyball mentor at RC, has 434 career victories. She has had 18 winning seasons during her tenure, including seven seasons (2015, 2014, 2010, 2008, 2007, 2003 and 2002) with 20 or more wins. The Maroons have recorded 14 winning seasons in ODAC conference play and made appearances in the ODAC tournament in 24 of the 27 years Trail-Bennett has led the squad. Roanoke has also reached the league tournament championship match three times under Trail-Bennett.
"I am honored to have the opportunity and responsibility that accompany this position," said Trail-Bennett. "Focusing on the interest of women's sports, supporting departmental equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as campus outreach is a role I strongly embrace."
Trail-Bennett graduated from Roanoke in May of 1999 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. After transferring from Division I Radford University prior to the 1997 season, Trail-Bennett set several school records, including most kills in one match (24 vs. Randolph-Macon Women's College). In her two seasons in an RC uniform (1997-98), Trail-Bennett racked up 517 kills. In addition to her record setting kill performances, Trail-Bennett also established a school record when she tallied 28 digs in a match against Ferrum College in 1998.
Trail-Bennett was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's First Team as a senior. She was the first Maroon to be named to the league's first team all-conference squad since 1995.

Scott Bennett, who along with her son Landon, live in Roanoke.
