Field Hockey defeated by Gophers in Home Opener

Salem. Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey team was defeated by Goucher, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in their home opener.

How It Happened  

  • Ava Barnes scored both of Goucher's goals on penalty corners.  

  • Sophie Baker had two breakups on the Gophers' breakaways in the game.  

Notes and Notables  

  •  Chloe Miller made five saves for RC, and Katie Bloom made 13 for Goucher.  

  • The Maroons led in both shots (20-9) and penalty corners (14-7) over the Gophers.
