Records: Roanoke (8-8, 5-2), Sewanee (13-2, 4-0)

How It Happened

  • The Maroons won the first eight draw controls of the game, scoring almost immediately on four of them to help jump out to an 8-2 lead after the first.

  • Sewanee was able to reel the quarter-by-quarter goal differential in over the second and third quarters, but RC still held a compiled 7-4 advantage over those 30 minutes.

  • Roanoke then posted four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to finish off their dominant performance.

Notes and Notables

  • Addison Widmer smashed her previous goal and point highs with her offensive performance in the game. She registered her first career hat trick in the first quarter alone. Widmer kept going from there, finishing with six goals and an assist for seven points.

  • Maddie McDonald got in on the action as well, setting new career marks in goals and points after posting eight goals and a helper for nine points. The attacker's performance ties her for third in the program record books in single game goals.

  • The last time a Maroon scored eight goals in a game was in 2021 when both Lilly Blair and Emerson Foster did so against Shenandoah.

  • The pair of Widmer and McDonald also went a combined 5-5 from the free position.

  • Sarah Brisson recorded four points on the afternoon after leading the team in assists with three and adding a goal.

  • Zoe Blair and Sydney Winpigler rounded out the multi-point recorders with two each. Blair scored two goals while Winpigler had a goal and dished out an assist.

  • Wheeler, Lili RIley, and Reese Ormiston had three ground balls each.

  • Kendall Todd picked up the victory in net after making five saves in just over 51 minutes played. Maddie Barnhorst finished out the final nine minutes, making one save in the process.
