Roanoke splits tri-match in Harrisonburg

HARRISONBURG, Va.  - The Roanoke College men's volleyball team split their tri-match on Saturday, taking an ODAC victory over Eastern Mennonite before falling to Marymount.

Game 1 Notes and Notables 

  • After falling in the first set 25-23, RC bounced back to take the next three sets by scores of 25-18, 27-25, and 25-23. 

  • Pierce Faulcon had a career high 19 kills to pace RC in the match. 

  • Johnny Moran posted 34 assists in the contest, just three shy of his career mark. 

  • CJ Kingston led in digs with 17. He was joined by Moran and Rutkowski in the double digits as they posted 13 and 10.

Game 2 Notes and Notables 

  • The Maroons couldn't quite find any big runs in the first and second sets to get them to go their way but picked up the win in the third set. Then in a back and forth fourth set, the sides were tied at 24 before Marymount found the final blow to make it 26-24. 

  • Faulcon and Cummins each had 10 kills to lead Roanoke. 

  • Moran topped the squad in helpers with 21 while Gabe Fabbro wasn't far behind with 17. 

  • Faulcon and Andre Gates each had three blocks in the match. 

  • Kingston and Moran led in digs with nine a piece.
