LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Roanoke College men's volleyball squad took home their fifth conference sweep as they defeated Lynchburg 3-0.

How It Happened 

• In the first set, RC gained the edge early and despite Lynchburg tying the set on multiple occasions, the Maroons never let them turn the corner. RC took the first set, 25-22. 

• Roanoke used a pair of big runs in the first half of the set to distance themselves from the Hornets and ultimately take the second set 25-18. 

• It was back and forth in the early going, but RC had the upper hand thanks to a big five-point run. While Lynchburg brought the set back to a one-point game, the Maroons finished off the match at 25-23. 

Notes and Notables 

• Senior Dominic Wheaton went a perfect 8/8 on the night to lead the Maroons in kills. 

• Colin Mendoza and Michael Cummins weren't far behind Wheaton with seven kills each. 

• Johnny Moran paced the squad in assists with 21 while Teagan Cole dished out 13. 

• CJ Kingston led in digs with six with Moran also tallying five. 

• Jackson Rutkowski, Cade Kinne, and Mendoza each had two blocks on the night.
