The Short story: The Roanoke College softball team faced stiff competition Saturday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader, dropping two games to the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III, Virginia Wesleyan University.
Marlin pitcher Hannah Hearl tossed a no-hitter in the opener, walking one Maroon.

*The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth. The Marlins scored two each in the fourth and fifth frames and added five more in the seventh. Â
