Maroons drop pair of games to Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, Va. - The Roanoke College baseball team dropped a pair of ODAC games to Randolph-Macon on Saturday. 
 
Game 1 Information 
Randolph-Macon 12, Roanoke 2 (7 inn.) 
Records: Randolph-Macon (8-4, 3-2), Roanoke (12-3, 2-1) 
Location: Ashland, Va. (Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park) 

Game 1 Notes and Notables 

  • Roanoke struck first in the top of the second with a pair of runs, but R-MC took control from there, scoring in each of the next six innings. 

  • Dylan Bonzon accounted for RC's two RBIs with his double in the second.

Randolph-Macon 5, Roanoke 3 
Records: Randolph-Macon (9-4, 4-2), Roanoke (12-4, 2-2) 

Game 2 Notes and Notables 

  • RC kept with their trend of scoring early, posting three runs in the top of the third. The Yellow Jackets tallied runs in each of the middle innings to get the win. 

  • Donaho recorded a pair of RBIs as he hit his third home run of the campaign. 

  • Kyle Tyrrell hit the first triple of his career to drive in his first career RBI. 

  • Timothy Hootselle had the second multi-hit game of the season as he posted a pair of hits. 

  • Chase Booth went five innings and allowed just two runs while striking out four.
