Notes and Notables
- Ammon clocked in at 1:54.62 to land in 15th place overall in the first round of the event. He placed fifth in Heat 3.
- That finish secures Second Team All-America honors for the Roanoke sophomore, who set the program's indoor 800m record earlier in the season.
- The top two runners from each of the three preliminary heats, along with the next two fastest overall times, advanced to the finals on Saturday. Hutton Edney of Wartburg led the pack during prelims with a time of 1:51.88.
