SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College baseball team put together a 10 run first inning to power themselves past SUNY Cobleskill on Tuesday.

How It Happened 

• The Maroons jumped on SUNY Cobleskill early, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first. 

• RC kept rolling from there and every time the Tigers would add a runs, Roanoke would match them with runs in the bottom of the inning. 

Notes and Notables 

• Will Emerson picks up his second win of the year after allowing just one hit in his 1.1 innings of work. 

• The Maroons had nine extra base hits on the afternoon. 

• Liam Murphy and Nicholas D'Orso both hit their first homers of the season to left field. Murphy now has nine career long balls while that was the first of D'Orso's career. 

• Murphy led the squad in RBIs with three. D'Orso, Nate Prince, Michael Hetzel, and Jack Fehlner all tallied two. 

• Prince, Murphy, Hetzel, Dylan Bonzon, and Danny Ferguson had two hits a piece.  

• Freshman Christian Dart and Ethan Andujar both got their first career hits in the game.  

• Meanwhile, Kyle Tyrrell made his first career start, playing second base, and Davis Hamby made his first career appearance on the mound.
