The Short story: Junior guard Jackson Bell delivered 23 points, eight rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots Saturday to lead the No. 17 ranked Roanoke College men's basketball team to a 73-57 win in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.

How it happened:  
*Roanoke opened a 31-23 lead at halftime on a 12-2 run after a tightly contested first half.
*The Maroons opened a 49-37 advantage with 12:13 left and led by double digits the rest of the way.

Inside the numbers:
*Bell played all 40 minutes and scored 15 of his game-high point total after intermission.
*Caleb Franze had a full stat line of 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.
*Porter Stanley had 11 points and six rebounds, while frontcourt mate Gavin O'Malley produced 10 points and four rebounds.
*Patrick Clevenger scored seven and Colin Fayed netted six.
*Isaiah Carr had 13 points for the Royals (6-15/3-9).
