Kiran Kapur drilled a double and a home run and drove in four runs Saturday as the Roanoke College softball team secured its first victory of the 2026 season, 5-4 over Catholic University.
How it happened:
*After Catholic plated a run in the bottom of the first, Roanoke countered with two in the second. After a two-out single from
Charlotte Gale, Kapur drilled a two-run home run.
*Kapur drove in two more in the fourth with a double to give RC a 4-1 edge.
*Catholic scored a single run in the fourth, but
Heather McQueeney scored on a double from
Ava Colontrelle and Roanoke held on to win a one-run game. Â
Inside the numbers:
*Kapur finished 2-3 with her first collegiate long ball and Colontrelle had two hits.
*Claire Warden threw four innings, allowing two runs with two strikeouts to pick up her first win of the season.
*
Grace Clary tossed two perfect frames with two strikeouts to earn the save.
*Oliva Stinchcomb was 3-4 with a home run and three RBI for Catholic (4-3).
