SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College baseball team were taken down by Greensboro on Wednesday.

How It Happened 

• RC struck first in the bottom of the first inning on a Michael Hetzel single to right field. 

• Greensboro got one back in the fourth and then continued scoring through middle innings to add on seven more. 

• Roanoke cut the deficit in half in the eight when they added three tallies, but Greensboro thwarted any comeback attempts in the ninth. 

Notes and Notables 

• Roanoke has now scored in the first inning during five of their six games so far this year. 

• Alec Jones, Clark Mileto, Conner Spears, Michael Hetzel, Timothy Hootselle, and Jorden Olivera accounted for RC's six hits on the afternoon. 

• Clark, Spears, Hetzel, and Hayden Giordano each drove in a run during the game. 

• Jones also had two stolen bases on the day.
