SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College women's basketball team battled with Shenandoah on Saturday but were unable to overcome a second half deficit.

How It Happened 

• It was a close but high scoring first quarter as the sides exchanged leads multiple times but ended the period knotted at 20-20. 

• The game stayed that way until halfway through the second quarter when SU went on eight point run to end the period at 30-23. 

• The Maroons fought their way, reducing the deficit to just two before Shenandoah extended their lead to put RC at arm's length for the rest of the game. 

Notes and Notables 

• Nadia Snesarev and Mariah Cain topped RC in points with 11 each. Alicea Farmer followed close behind with nine on the night. 

• Cecilia Robinson led in rebounds, pulling down nine boards. Ashley Fowler was the next closest Maroon with six. 

• Fowler tied her career high in assists with four and led in steals with two. 

• Moriah Tate went a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line in the contest.
